While addressing the party workers, Utture said, "This is the time for all the workers to show that we all stand united. The number of women coming into politics is less and in that those active in politics in Kolhapur is negligible. In Kolhapur North constituency, the count of female voters is higher than that of their male counterparts. No matter who gets the ticket, we will fight and help our candidate emerge victorious."
Ingawale said, "Several office-bearers are interested in contesting the assembly elections. No matter who gets the ticket, we will show full support to the chosen candidate. Earlier, the BJP was getting benefited and now other parties are getting benefited because of our workers who take to roads in full strength to show support."
The Kolhapur North constituency, which covers nearly 70 per cent of the city, has as many as 2,95,143 voters. Congress MLA Jayashri Jadhav was elected from here in the bypolls by defeating BJP's former corporator Satyajeet Jadhav.
The assembly seat was vacated after the demise of Jayashri's husband and Congress MLA Chandrakant Jadhav.
