Wanted thief held with stolen mobile phones worth Rs 35L
Indore: The crime branch of Indore police on Monday arrested a wanted man involved in mobile phone thefts with 294 stolen mobile phones worth Rs 35 lakh.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said, "During questioning, the accused, Sandeep Kashyap revealed that he was unemployed and was lured by one Jitendra Vaswani with the promise of a handsome salary for delivering mobile phones.

He was involved in delivering mobile phones from Indore to Nepal. He also confessed that he had delivered 60 mobile phones to Nepal on Jitendra's instructions before his arrest".
Earlier, Raoji Bazaar police had seized 634 mobiles from Vaswani, who has a previous criminal record. Kashyap had managed to escape when the Raoji Bazaar police raided Vaswani's premises. The case was later transferred to the crime branch and an investigation was launched against Kashyap.
With this arrest, the senior police officials believe that they have busted a significant part of the mobile theft racket operating in the city. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the network and nab other accused. The police were also working to trace the owners of the stolen mobile phones.
