HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Friday directed the state, pollution control board, municipal and police officials to explain their stand by Sept 30 on a plea accusing them of not taking action against two noisy pubs in Raidurgam. The bench also issued notices to the two pubs.
A bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J Sreenivas Rao was hearing the petition filed by Anand Dayama who had rented out his flat in Western Dallas complex at Raidurgam to a UK software firm that functions mostly during night in line with that country's timings.
He said that two pubs, Red Rhino Pub and Postcard Restaurant and Global Tapas Bar, situated in the same complex were disturbing everyone in the building because of the noise they created during night.
The petitioner's counsel said the UK firm was finding it difficult to operate in such a noisy area and it was affecting their business.
"They are planning to move out of the complex which would adversely affect our income. All our complaints to the authorities are lying unattended to," the counsel said while urging the court to direct officials to withdraw the permissions granted to these two pubs.
Though the PCB officials made an inspection of the area, they remained silent after that, he alleged.
While issuing notices, the bench remarked that the PCB is industry friendly and said: "Since you are an ordinary resident suffering sound pollution, they will not care for you. Since you are not an industry, they will not be friendly towards you."
