Train accident averted near Bathinda after vigilant pilot spotted iron bars

A vigilant loco pilot prevented an accident on the Bathinda-Delhi railway route by spotting iron bars on the tracks near Bangi Nagar, Bathinda. The train remained stationary for around 50 minutes while the obstruction was removed. Railway officials are investigating whether this incident was an act of mischief or part of a larger conspiracy.

BATHINDA: An accident was averted after vigilant loco pilot spotted iron bars on railway track on Bathinda-Delhi route on the wee hours of Sunday.
A bundle of 9 iron bars was found in between the railway tracks near Bangi Nagar locality of Bathinda. It was around 3AM that a train was coming to Bathinda. Upon spotting some object in between the tracks the loco pilot stopped the train even as the gateman near Bangi Nagar crossing too had signalled the train to stop.
The train remained stationery for nearly 50 minutes and it is after removing the iron bars from the tracks that train was allowed to resume its journey.

The locals too had assembled and said it may be a mischief by certain thieves as the area is infamous for such things. A local resident said either it is mischief by some thieves or may be a conspiracy.
The railway officials said the RPF and GRP is looking into the matter and nothing could be said at the moment whether it was some conspiracy
