Man stabs brother to death in drunken brawl
Krishnagiri: A 33-year-old man stabbed his younger brother to death over a drunken brawl near Shoolagiri late Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as P Chandran, 30, of Kalingavaram near Shoolagiri.
Around 11pm on Monday, Chandran came home drunk on his bike. His brother Boopathi, 33, who was also drunk, attempted to take the bike without informing Chandran.

An argument broke out between them.
“Infuriated, Boopathi stabbed his brother using a knife on his chest and neck,” Shoolagiri police said. He also stabbed his mother Gowramma when she attempted to save Chandran, police said.
While Chandan succumbed to stab injuries on the spot, Gowramma was admitted to the government hospital in Hosur. The body was sent for a postmortem.
Police arrested Boopathi and sent him to the Salem central prison under judicial custody.
