Nitish to open Bapu Tower on October 2
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar would inaugurate Bapu Tower on October 2 constructed in Gardanibagh locality here.
Bapu Tower has been constructed to spread and propagate history, work and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and his long association with Bihar that had started with the 1917 Champaran Satyagrah campaign against indigo planters on the initiative and request of local farmer Raj Kumar Shukla.

The campaign aligned peasants with the independence movement nationally.
“The aim and objective behind constructing Bapu Tower is to give exposure to the visitors to the life and work, thoughts and teachings, of Mahtama Gandhi,” the CM said.
The CM said the decision to construct Bapu Tower was taken during his address to the two-day national discourse on Champaran Satyagrah held here on April 10 and 11 as part of the 10-day centenary celebrations of Champaran Satyagrah.
He laid the foundation stone for the construction of Bapu Tower on October 2, 2018, and it is now almost ready for inauguration.
The CM, accompanied by principal secretary Deepak Kumar, building construction department secretary Kumar Ravi and CM’s secretary Anupam, went around Bapu Tower to see and inspect its various features.
The 102 feet Bapu Tower is a multistoreyed structure that has three theatres and auditorium, exhibition hall, office, waiting room, museum shop and canteen. During his inspection on Tuesday, the CM also saw the turn-table theatre (rotating curtain) built on the ground floor.

Committee conducts inspection of under-construction multipurpose hall
The committee headed by Deeksha Jain assessed the construction of a multipurpose hall in Maqsoodabad village under the Khelo India scheme. Incomplete tasks such as window glass panels, wooden flooring, and drainage work were noted. The executing agency was instructed to finish these tasks quickly and conduct quality tests to ensure standards are met.
