Aided college teachers seek payment of salaries, dues
Madurai: Members of the Joint Action Council of Aided College Teachers submitted a mass representation to the regional joint director of collegiate education in Madurai on Tuesday evening, demanding the immediate payment of salaries and dues with Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) benefits for all aided college teachers. They also called for an investigation into irregularities in the disbursal process.
Over 200 college teachers from Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Theni, and Dindigul participated in the protest.

The Madurai Kamaraj, Manonmaniam Sundaranar, Mother Teresa, and Alagappa University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) – JAC highlighted that despite the issuance of Government Order No. 5 on January 11, 2021, by the Higher Education Department for the CAS for government, aided college, and university teachers, the pay revision benefits have not been fully disbursed to all aided college teachers even after four years.
“While aided college teachers in the Thanjavur and Coimbatore zones have received their salaries, those in six other zones are still waiting. Our continuous protests have gone unheard, indicating irregularities in the disbursal that must be investigated,” said A T Senthamarai Kannan, president of MUTA, Madurai.
