“Soon, jetting and silt vehicles will be purchased. Some vehicles used for waste management have come to scrap level. We need 323 auto tipper vehicles for smooth work. Soon, 69 vehicles will be purchased,” he said.
Badigeri said that under the Smart City project, 63 works have been taken and 58 works have been handed over to HDMC after inspection by officials.
Corporator Santosh Chavan said people are getting throat infections due to the supply of poor-quality drinking water.
“L&T is playing with people’s health. Who is doing the water density and quality check? Soil is mixed with the water supply. Soon, action should be taken to ensure good quality drinking water is supplied,” they said.
Ward No. 59 corporator Suvarna Kalkuntala said no road works have been completed. “Due to the 24x7 water pipeline, the road has deteriorated. Complaints about stray dog menace are increasing. Action should be taken in this regard. A toilet should be constructed near Rani Chennamma Circle,” she urged.
HDMC commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi said a team will be formed to check the water quality and visit the water plant in Aminabhavi.
