Silchar: An FIR has been filed at Lailapur police patrol post in Cachar district against two youths for allegedly raping two minor girls.
The girls, who were on their way to school on Sept 17, were abducted by the duo and taken to a lodge in Vairengte, Mizoram, where the alleged crime took place. The FIR was filed by their parents on Wednesday.
This incident occurred just a day after another attempted rape case in Lailapur, where a Class 8 student was targeted by a Village Defence Party secretary.
The accused in that case was arrested on Sept 16.
The two youths involved in the latest incident were named in the FIR lodged by the parents of the two girls. The FIR states that the accused, who were drunk, dropped the girls at Channighat in Cachar district.
