Tasmac bar violates functioning time, sealed
Coimbatore: District superintendent of police Dr K Karthikeyan on Sunday morning conducted a surprise raid at a Tasmac bar at Kuberapuri near Thondamuthur and found it illegally functioning around 11am. Tasmac bars are allowed to function only from 12 noon.
Immediately, the SP secured three staff of the bar and handed them over to the Thondamuthur police.

The revenue department, meanwhile, sealed the bar.
A police officer identified the arrested trio as casher K Srinivasan, 42, of Gudalur village in Ramanathapuram district, and bar attendants K Arjun, 21, of Sivaganga district, and P Vinoth, 27, of Vellalapatti in Pudukottai district. Police also seized 31 bottles of liquor from them.
The Thondamuthur police have registered a case against the trio under sections 4(I)(C), 4 (1A), read with 24 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (TNP) Act.
Meanwhile, Perur tahsildar Ramesh, Alandurai village administrative officer Vigneshwaran and team visited the Tasmac bar and sealed it. "Since the bar didn't have a main door, officials blocked the main entrance with two cots and sealed the bar," another source said.
