BENGALURU: Landslides on the railway track between Ballupet and Sakleshpur stations in Mysuru division around midday on Friday affected two trains operating on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. The Yeshwantpur-Karwar train had to be partially cancelled between Hassan and Karwar, while the Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwantpur train was forced to terminate at Sakleshpur due to the incident.

SWR officials arranged bus services to help passengers reach their destinations. Following the landslides, SWR has announced the cancellation of 12 train services that would have started on Aug 17, 18 and 19 - trains 16585, 16586, 16595, 16596, 16511, 16512, 16539, 16540, 07377, 07378, 16575, and 16576.
An SWR official stated the fresh landslides occurred at the same stretch where a similar incident happened on Aug 10. "It requires at least 48 hours to restore the track," the official explained.
