Class 12 dropout running medical clinic arrested
Ahmedabad: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Ahmedabad rural police arrested a 30-year-old man, Swarjeet Roy, from Koth village of the district on Tuesday for allegedly practicing medicine without possessing a medical degree. Roy, who hails from 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, had been operating a clinic in a rented house in the village for about 1.5 years, despite being a Class 12 dropout.

Acting on a tip-off, the SOG raided Roy's clinic and caught him in the act. During the operation, the police seized medicines and medical tools worth Rs 15,139 from his possession. Roy was subsequently booked under the charges of the Gujarat Medical Practitioners' Act.
According to a senior SOG officer, Roy had previously worked as a housekeeper in a govt hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he began administering injections and medicines to patients. After being dismissed from the hospital, Roy relocated to Ahmedabad, where he procured medicines and other medical tools. He then settled in Koth and started providing medical services. tnn
