Over 3K flood-hit still in Tripura relief camps
Agartala: Three weeks after the worst floods in decades in Tripura, about 3873 affected people continue to take shelter in 67 relief camps across four worst-hit districts.
After reviewing the flood situation on Thursday, CM Manik Saha directed officials to ensure proper food, healthcare facilities and hygiene in the relief camps besides payment of ex gratia to families which lost their near and dear ones.

The death toll has now risen to 36 and one person is still reported to be missing. Out of the deaths, 22 are due to landslides, 13 are due to drowning and one due to house collapse and the causality included 23 males, seven females and six children.
“The CM also asked the officials to finalise the memorandum for final damage assessment within this week and send the same to MHA and to devise a medium and long-term action plan for restoration work,” said secretary (revenue) Brijesh Pandey.
