NEW DELHI: Richard Vanlalhmangaiha of the ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) has won Mizoram's lone Lok Sabha seat, defeating his nearest competitor, K Vanlalvena of the Mizo National Front (MNF), by a substantial margin of 68,288 votes. Vanlalhmangaiha received 208,552 votes, while Vanlalvena garnered 140,264 votes. Congress candidate Lalbiakzama finished third with 98,595 votes.
The vote counting process was conducted at 13 centers across the state under stringent security measures to ensure a smooth and fair tally.
