BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav's cabinet was expanded on Monday with 28 ministers being sworn in, among them stalwarts like BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and former Union minister Prahlad Patel.
What stood out in the lineup was that there are five women ministers this time -16% of the cabinet - the highest in 25 years, in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's push for women empowerment. Also, most of the cabinet members are familiar faces, although 17 of them have been made ministers for the first time, including veterans like former state BJP chief Rakesh Singh.

The entire state is moving forward with unity towards the dream of Golden Madhya Pradesh. The colleagues in the Council of Ministers will fulfill the vision and mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 28 BJP MLAs took oath as ministers in the new Madhya Pradesh Cabinet expansion, including 18 cabinet ministers, 6 Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and 4 state ministers.

CM Mohan Yadav meets PM Modi, focus on state's progress

Chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav and deputy CMs- Jagdish Dewda and Rajendra Shukla- met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers during their visit to Delhi. They discussed development works in Madhya Pradesh and sought guidance. The chief minister also hosted a dinner for MPs from Madhya Pradesh, where discussions were held on coordination for development and implementation of important schemes. The MPs congratulated the chief minister and expressed commitment for the state's development. All eyes are now on the new ministry, which is expected to have more new faces based on the Chhattisgarh formula.

What was also conspicuous was that veterans like Gopal Bhargava, Bisahulal Singh or Bhupendra Singh have been dropped from the ministry. In fact, a look at the Yadav ministry shows that not many supporters of former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have found a place. Three loyalists of Jyotiraditya Scindia have been given berths. Chouhan has called it a "balanced cabinet."

Congratulations!
