Varanasi: The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is set to organize its 46th convocation ceremony at the Gandhi Study Auditorium on Wednesday. A total of 97,350 degrees will be awarded, including 47,104 to male and 50,246 to female students. The rehearsal for the convocation was held on Tuesday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Anand Kumar Tyagi, said that this year's convocation will be themed "Triveni Sangam," focusing on the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and Dr.
Bhimrao Ambedkar, as the university has always been a proponent of non-violence, social harmony, and resource accessibility for the last person in society. A souvenir based on the ideas of these iconic figures will be released during the convocation. Gold medals will be awarded to seven undergraduate students, including two male and five female, and nine postgraduate students, including three male and six female. Additionally, two outstanding athletes, Saurabh Kumar Yadav in kickboxing and Akanksha Verma in karate, will receive medals. Degrees will be conferred to 78,196 undergraduates (41,474 male and 36,722 female), 19,056 postgraduates (5,577 male and 13,479 female), and 98 Ph.D. students (53 male and 45 female).
