Vadodara: With the support of a US-based alumnus, MS University’s largest faculty — the Faculty of Commerce — is now equipped with a state-of-the-art computer laboratory.
Niranjan Choksi, a gold medallist from the 1971 batch of Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), has donated Rs 90 lakh to his alma mater in memory of his late wife, Anila Niranjan Choksi, for setting up the computer lab that has come up at the main building of the faculty.
The computer lab, inaugurated on Friday, has 90 computers, two interactive smart boards, and all necessary furniture and fixtures at the main building campus.
“I am not concerned about the amount of funding required. I wish to create a state-of-the-art computer lab for the students of commerce. I am delighted to contribute to the institution that shaped my life and career,” said Choksi.
“It features the latest interactive touch screen display with embedded Windows and Android, a conventional whiteboard for side-by-side writing, and the latest technology computer systems, all completed in a record time of less than 100 days,” said Jignesh Gajiwala, director of Anju Corporation, which provided technical help for the facility.
