Burglars hit second jewellery shop in 2 days
Vadodara: Burglars struck at a jewellery shop in the Karelibaug area of the city early on Thursday morning and made off with silver jewellery.
This is the second burglary at a jewellery shop in the city in the last two days. The break-in has embarrassed city police, which has been promising citizens a safe environment through intensive patrolling.
The burglars broke into Shreeji Jewellers by opening the lock on the main door using a gas cutter.

The burglars had come to the spot in a car and brought the gas cutter along.
They stole silver jewellery and some cash from the shop. On realizing that the shop had a CCTV system, they broke the cameras and took the digital video recorder with them.
Police have begun an investigation in the case. On Tuesday night, burglars had broken into Ladla Jewellers near Mandvi and stolen silver idols and Rs 2 lakh cash. They stolen the entire safe that contained the valuables.
