Land acquisition for Kangra airport expansion cleared
Shimla: The state government on Friday approved the declaration of land acquisition and compensation to the families being affected by the expansion of Kangra airport. The decision to approve was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
It was also decided to provide the state share of capital cost for the construction of Bulk Drug Park in the Haroli assembly constituency of Una district, and approved calling of its tender.

The Cabinet also gave its approval to bring additional areas of Retreat, Mashobra, Band Tukda Andri, Shiv Mandi Andri, Tal and Giri, D P F Khalini, B C S Mist Chamber and Parimahal under the ambit of ‘Green Area’ in the Shimla Development Plan.
The Cabinet also accepted its sub-committee’s recommendations on declaring the pending results for posts (codes 903 and 939) of junior office assistant.
Approval to fill crucial posts
The Cabinet has gave its approval to create and fill up 486 posts of lecturer physical education and 157 supernumerary posts of principal school cadre in the education eepartment. It was also decided to fill up 245 posts of special educators in the education department to provide education to children with special needs.
“The Cabinet has decided to create 27 additional posts of block development officer, increasing the total cadre strength to 123 posts. The govt will also regularise the services of 18 Grameen Vidya Upasaks as junior basic teachers in the education department, who have completed three years of services and fulfill the norms of National Council for Teachers Education,” said source.

“It was also decided at the meeting to create the department of cardiology at Dr Radhakrishnan Govt Medical College, Hamirpur, and to create and fill up three posts viz professor, assistant professor and senior sesident doctor for its smooth functioning,” said the source. “The Cabinet also sanctioned filling up of two posts of sistrict controller, food, civil supplies through direct recruitment,” the source added.
