Kullu: Delegations of the Himachal and
Punjab taxi operator unions, led by their respective presidents Ajay Thakur and Keval Krishan, met deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Tuesday and discussed various pressing issues, including the ongoing rift between the taxi unions of the two states.
The delegations appealed to the deputy CM for an immediate resolution to maintain harmony among the taxi operators in both the states.
They also asked Agnihotri to consider providing relief to the taxi operators from the taxes imposed on the tourist vehicles and to ensure necessary facilities and safety measures for them.
During the meeting, the deputy CM emphasised the importance of maintaining brotherhood among taxi operators and said the govt was committed to supporting the taxi operators and improving the working conditions for them. He also assured the union that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.
Rural development and panchayati raj minister Anirudh Singh was also present in the meeting.
