Cong panel in Shimla to probe LS poll loss
Kullu: A two-member fact-finding committee, set up by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to examine reasons for Congress debacle in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, reached Shimla on Monday.
The committee members — senior party leader PL Punia and Rajya Sabha MP Rajni Patil — met chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at his official residence Oak Over on Monday afternoon.

Both the members will meet Congress ministers and leaders from the four Lok Sabha constituencies where the party suffered a defeat in the general elections. Talking to mediapersons in Shimla, Patil said that a report would be made after meeting all the Congress leaders and workers.
“We are here because the All India Congress Committee wants us to find out the reasons behind Congress defeat in Himachal Pradesh. We will meet all the leaders and workers from the state to know exactly why we lost,” said Patil.
Congress had lost all the four seats — Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur and Shimla — in the general elections held last month.
