One dead as truck rams private bus

Krishnagiri: A driver of a tipper truck died and 15 others were injured after the truck rammed a private bus near Kelamangalam here on Tuesday.
Police said the accident took place near Anusonai around 11am, when a tipper truck laden with boulders rammed a private bus coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased has been identified as Lal Kumar, 36, from Bihar.“He succumbed to injuries on the spot,” said a police officer from the Kelamangalam police station. A group of women employed in a private company were onboard the bus. The officer added that 15 women on the bus suffered injuries and were rushed to the government hospital in Kelamangalam. All 15 were discharged after treatment.
Meanwhile, police have sent the body for a postmortem. A case has been registered and further inquiry is on.
