NHAI Salem unit plants 1,150 saplings along two national highways

SALEM: The Salem division of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday planted 1,150 saplings along the Krishnagiri -Karur National Highway (NH-44) and Salem – Chengapalli National Highway (NH – 544).
The saplings were planted as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva - 2024' programme.
Project director of the NHAI's Project Implementation Unit (PIU) K Srinivasulu told TOI that the campaign would continue till Oct 2.

The initiative spans seven districts, including Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal and Karur along NH-44, and Erode and Tirupur along NH-544.
Regional transport officer of Salem East D Damodharan and the project manager of MVR Infrastructure Tollways Private Limited J Srinivasan participated in the saplings planting activities on Tuesday.
