DVAC nabs TNEB official for taking bribe
Dharmapuri: A Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) revenue supervisor was caught red-handed by the Directorate of the Vigilance and Anti-corruption (DVAC) while accepting bribe from a consumer at Indur on Wednesday.
DVAC sleuths said that they received a complaint from M Vadivel, 40, of Aatukarampatty on Wednesday. He stated in the complaint that V Sasikumar, 50, a revenue supervisor of the Indur TNEB office, demanded 15,000 as bribe.
“Sasikumar demanded the bribe after Vadivel approached him for changing the electricity tariff from temporary to permanent for his newly constructed house,” the DVAC officials said.

Vadivel complained to the DVAC officials in Dharmapuri on Wednesday. DVAC sources said that the sleuths set a trap for Sasikumar by giving chemical-laced currency notes to the complainant.
“We arrested Sasikumar while receiving the bribe from Vadivel,” the sleuths added. A case was registered, and further investigation is on.tnn
