RANCHI: Chief minister
Hemant Soren and his 11 ministers will donate Rs 1 lakh each from their monthly salaries to the kin of the 12 excise constable aspirants who died during the physical tests which began last month.
“The idea was proposed by the CM verbally during the cabinet meeting and all the ministers unanimously agreed,” rural development minister Irfan Ansari told TOI after the meeting.
Ansari claimed the “humane” gesture was aimed at providing immediate relief to the families of the deceased as the state government was working out modalities for providing compensation.
Notably, the BJP has announced compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of all deceased excise constable aspirants from the party fund.
