30-year-old woman accuses father-in-law of molesting her
Rajkot: A 30-year-old woman has accused her father-in-law of molesting her at their residence in Junagadh. Police filed an FIR against her father-in-law at Junagadh City A Division police station on Saturday, based on the woman’s complaint.
According to her complaint, the woman, a native of Dhoraji town in Rajkot, married 10 years ago. Her husband owns a paan shop.

The woman alleged that on Jan 9, 2023, her father-in-law entered her room around noon while her husband was at work.
He allegedly grabbed her arm and demanded that she “submit to him”. When she refused, he wrote a note and handed it to her. He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone.
Upon her husband’s return, the woman informed him about the incident, and he went to confront his father, but he was not in the house. The woman then filed a written complaint against her father-in-law. However, no FIR was filed initially as attempts were made to reconcile the situation to protect the family’s reputation. However, after the woman filed the complaint, her husband stopped talking to her.
Two days after the incident last year, she reached out to her brother, who brought her to Dhoraji. She has been staying at her father’s house since then. The woman’s husband has not visited her to bring her back.
Since all attempts to reconcile failed, the woman asked the police to file an FIR against her father-in-law.
