Rajkot: An 80-year-old farmer was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon near Khakharda village in the Kalyanpur taluka of Devbhoomi Dwarka district on Monday late evening. The deceased was identified as Vajubha Jadeja.
Vanrajsinh Jadeja, the 52-year-old son of the deceased, lodged a complaint against an unidentified individual at the Kalyanpur police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The Kalyanpur police and the Devbhoomi Dwarka Local Crime Branch have commenced a manhunt for the perpetrator. The reason behind the
murder of the elderly man remains unknown.
According to the complaint filed by Vanrajsinh, he received a call from Vikrambhai, a labourer working on the farm, informing him that an unidentified person had attacked his father with a weapon and urged him to come to the farm immediately. When Vanrajsinh arrived at the farm, he discovered his father lying in a pool of blood.
Upon questioning, Vikrambhai revealed that he was in his hut when he heard Vajubha’s voice. As he stepped outside, he saw an unknown man assaulting his father with a sharp weapon.
The attacker threatened to kill Vikrambhai if he intervened, causing Vikrambhai, his wife, and children to run into the fields out of fear. The deceased is survived by two sons and three daughters. Both sons lived with him in Khakharda village and were involved in farming activities.
