Youth drowns in water-filled pit in Barh area

Patna: A youth was drowned in Barh subdivision, while a class IV student was feared to have met watery grave in Patna district on Sunday.
Police said 19-year-old youth, Chandan Kumar, was drowned when had gone to the farm field to deliver food to his father Rajaram Yadav. After giving food to his father, he did not reach home for a long time, after which the family started searching for him.The villagers said the body of the youth was found inside a pit on the side of the road in Mankaura village of Belchi block under Barh sub-division area.
ASI Mukesh Kumar of Barh police station, who reached the spot with the team, said the incident took place about 2km away from the village. “No one could rescue the youth, as the accident took place at a distant place from the village,” he said, adding, the police have sent the body to the sub-divisional hospital, Barh, for postmortem.
In another incident, a class IV student, Ranveer Kumar, son of Ajit Sharma, and resident of Nasriganj, was feared drowned in the Ganga river while taking bath at Fakkad Mahato Ghat under Danapur police station area.
