1 killed, 7 injured as two families clash over path dispute in Gopalganj
Patna: An elderly man was killed, while about seven others were injured in a violent clash between two groups over a dispute related to a path in Town police station area of Gopalganj district on Sunday.
Three persons, including a woman, were arrested in this connection, police said.
According to police, the victim has been identified as Paltu Ram (65) of Basdila village.

The injured from both the groups were identified as Shatrughan Ram, Krish Ram and Meena Devi, Gayatri Devi, Munna Kumar, Sudha Kumari and Nawal Kishore Ram.
An FIR has been registered based on the statement of family members of Paltu against seven named accused, including Shatrughan .
Town SHO, OP Chouhan said, “The families of Paltu Ram and Ramesh Ram’s had an old dispute over a path. A fierce clash broke out again on Sunday morning over the same issue, and the two families engaged in a fierce clash, wielding sticks, rods and sharp-edged weapons. While three people from one family and four from the other were injured, Paltu Ram, who received injuries from sharp-edged weapons, died on the spot.”
“Paltu Ram’s family had planted banana sapling on their land, which Shatrughan Ram was cutting it down on Sunday. A clash broke out when Paltu objected to this. By the time his family arrived on the scene, Paltu had died,” Ram’s family alleged.
However, Shatrughan’s family alleged that Paltu Ram’s kin objected to their using the path that was located at the backside of latter’s house.
