60-year-old man held for raping girl in J’bad

Patna: A 60-year-old man was arrested on Sunday on charges of raping an eight-year-old girl in Jehanabad district. The accused, Naresh Paswan, allegedly picked up the girl while she was playing outside her house and committed the crime on Saturday evening.
The girl’s mother filed a complaint against Paswan, alleging that he lured her daughter with promises of chocolates.“He then lifted my daughter into his lap and took her to a deserted place where he sexually assaulted her,” the woman told the police.
Trainee DSP and SHO Nishant Kumar said the child’s parents were at home when the incident occurred. “The girl returned home crying and told her mother that the old man had done something bad to her. Her mother noticed that the girl’s clothes were disheveled and her private part was bleeding. She immediately took the girl to a nearby doctor’s clinic and informed the police,” Kumar added.
He said an FIR was filed based on the woman’s statement and Paswan was arrested. “The medical examination of the girl was conducted at the sadar hospital. The accused has confessed to the crime during interrogation,” Kumar said.
