Nashik: Raksha Khadse, the Union minister for youth affairs and sports, on Sunday criticized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for allegedly politicizing the recent collapse of the statue of
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Malvan. Khadse accused the MVA of insincerity, suggesting their outrage was politically motivated.
Speaking to the media during her visit to Nashik, she sought to draw attention to the 2020 act of the then Congress govt in Madhya Pradesh that had removed the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Speaking to the media during her visit to Nashik, Khadse highlighted the 2020 incident in Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress government had removed a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “The collapse of the statue in Malvan is indeed unfortunate, but the MVA’s attempt to capitalize on it for political gain is questionable. Where was their concern in 2020 when the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh demolished a similar statue? Their current stance appears to be a case of dual standards,” Khadse said.
Khadse is currently touring six assembly seats in Ahmednagar district and three in Nashik city, engaging with party office-bearers and guiding them on election strategies.
Regarding the upcoming elections, Khadse stated that the BJP will contest all the seats it won in the last assembly elections. She emphasized that the alliance parties, under the Mahayuti banner, are preparing for the elections.
When asked about the party’s candidates, Khadse said that she was not involved in deciding nominations. She praised the performance of sitting MLAs and assured that the party functionaries would support the nominees chosen by the party.
