Nashik: Former Malegaon taluka chief of
Shiv Sena (UBT) Rambhau Mistari and his supporters joined chief minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena after quitting UBT last week.
Mistari was inducted into the party on Monday night in Mumbai in the presence of Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, district guardian minister Dada Bhuse, and party secretary Bhausaheb Chaudhari.
The former Sena UBT leader had resigned as a mark of protest against Shiv Sena (UBT) deputy leader Advay Hiray, who had recently dismissed him from the post of taluka chief for alleged anti-party activities.
The move has disconcerted Sena (UBT) at a time when the party is set to contest the Malegaon Outer seat in the forthcoming state polls. Bhuse has been winning the seat since 2004. Hiray is likely to be nominated from the seat.
After joining Shiv Sena, Mistari said he will work to strengthen the party base in Malegaon taluka and will make efforts for the victory of the party candidate from the Malegaon Outer constituency.
Recently, local UBT politician Bandu Bacchav had demanded a party ticket for Malegaon Outer. Bacchav is likely to contest as an Independent if the party ignores his demand.
