Nagpur:
Swine flu cases have seen a mild spike in August and September with 17 active cases and nine deaths in Nagpur hospitals. The toll includes eight patients from outside Nagpur city. The non-native deceased include three from Nagpur rural, four from outside the district, and one from another state, who passed away in August.
This takes the year’s swine flu toll to 15, while cases surged to 161, including 21 from other states from January to August.
Of the total cases, 129 recovered and were discharged during this period.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials said this year only four swine flu deceased patients belong to the city, while the rest were natives of either rural parts, other districts, or were brought to Nagpur for treatment in critical condition from outside the state.
