Mysuru: KPCC spokesperson M Lakshmana on Friday accused former ministers GT Devegowda and AH Vishwanath of targeting
CM Siddaramaiah in the row over the constitution of the Shri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority.
Lakshmana said the authority was set up after due process of law and was notified in the Karnataka Gazette as per the law on July 1. While they had argued for the constitution of the authority earlier, now they have made a U-turn after the Mysuru royal family went to the high court and got a stay on the authority.
The two leaders are opposing the constitution of the authority to tarnish the CM’s image of, he argued.
But the constitution of the authority is in the interest of the Chamundi Hills and its conservation as the CM heads it, while the royal family has been extended representation in it. Elected representatives will not be appointed to the authority, he told reporters. He stated that the Chamundi Hills is managed by the Chamundi Hills gram panchayat, forest and tourism departments while the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple belongs to the Muzrai department.
Lakshmana took on BJP MLA TS Srivatsa for saying that CM will be jailed.
