2 arrested, 15g MDMA seized

Mangaluru: CCB sleuths arrested two persons involved in the trafficking and sale of MDMA and seized 15g of MDMA from them. The arrested are Abdul Salam alias Salam,30, and Sooraj Rai, alias Anki,26, hailing from Manjeshwar in Kasaragod. Police have recovered 15g of MDMA worth Rs 75,000, two mobile phones, a digital weighing scale, and a two-wheeler from the arrested.
The value of the total seized items is Rs 1.7 lakh. A case has been registered at Ullal police station. City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that acting on credible information that two individuals were transporting MDMA on a two-wheeler with the intent to sell it to the public and students in Mangaluru city, CCB police located the two-wheeler near KC Road in Talapady. There are cases under the NDPS Act against Abdul Salam in Manjeshwara police station, while Sooraj is facing a case under the NDPS Act at Ullal station. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were buying MDMA from Kerala with the intent to sell it to the public and students in the city for profit. tnn
