Dengue suspected to be cause of woman’s death

Lucknow: A 58-year-old woman, Shyamvanti Devi, from Faizullaganj, passed suspectedly because of dengue infection on Tuesday, claimed her family. She was admitted to a private hospital last Friday after high fever and low platelet count. A rapid card test confirmed dengue fever.
During treatment, Shyamvanti reportedly developed ‘dengue shock syndrome' and succumbed to multiple organ failure.However, health department has not yet confirmed dengue was the cause of her death.
"We have not received any information of death by dengue and we will probe if we receive any such report," said Dr Manoj Agarwal, CMO, Lucknow.
