HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old woman died after being hit by an RTC bus at Kothaguda junction on Friday night.
The victim, identified as K
Madhavi, passed away early Saturday morning while receiving treatment.
According to the Madhapur police, the incident happened around 8:30 pm when Madhavi was crossing the road on foot.
Despite the bus driver having a clear view of her from a distance, the vehicle hit her from behind while making a slight turn at the junction, causing severe injuries.
The accident drew a large crowd to the busy intersection. Madhavi, a beautician from Barkatpura, was en route home after finishing her work in Kothaguda.
She had been walking towards Cyber Towers before heading back to her home Barkatpura when the fatal accident occurred.
The police have seized the bus and detained the bus driver. He was booked on charges of negligence resulting in death. The incident, captured on the CCTV camera, has been widely circulated on social media.
