Shabbir, Goud assure justice in Jainoor
Hyderabad: State govt advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the communal violence that rocked Jainoor in Asifabad district. They also promised adequate compensation for people affected by the riots.
The assurances were made during a meeting with a delegation of Jainoor residents who visited Shabbir Ali’s residence here.

Goud, who made a courtesy call to Shabbir Ali following his appointment as TPCC president, also met with the victims during the meeting.

The Congress leaders had a telephonic conversation with the district collector and SP to assess the status of the investigation into the violence. They were informed that 110 shops were set on fire during the riots, and 28 individuals involved in the violence had been identified.
Goud reiterated the Congress govt’s secular commitment and asserted that the state would not tolerate any form of violence.
He also emphasised that steps would be taken to restore peace and rebuild trust in the affected areas.
Jainoor residents submitted a representation to Congress leaders detailing the events of Sept 4 when violence broke out causing widespread damage to shops, homes, as well as religious sites.
Meanwhile, Shabbir Ali told the new TPCC president to ensure greater representation of weaker sections in the new TPCC team.
