HC stops arrest of Medchal official
Hyderabad: Justice K Sujana of Telangana high court has directed the state govt and HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath not to arrest K Srinivasulu, assistant director of survey and land records wing of Medchal district, and another employee Phool Singh, both of whom were facing FIRs filed by Cyberabad police based on a complaint by HYDRAA.
The judge heard the cases of both accused and said they were charged with section 316(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) which states that a person who commits criminal breach of trust while in possession of property or having dominion over it can be punished with imprisonment for life or up to 10 years along with a fine.

This applies to people who are entrusted with property in course of business or as public servant.
The complaint filed by HYDRAA had no material to make out a case under this section. Other sections slapped on them are of lesser punishment which can be dealt with under section 41-A of CrPC, judge said and directed authorities to call accused and record their statements. Judge directed accused to appear before authorities. Accused reportedly allowed illegal constructions in FTL and buffer zones.

Schools are required to submit their proposals by September 21, with an online fee of Rs 15,000 per section.
