Gurgaon: Candidates have already written their Group C and D exams conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), but they will have to wait till the Assembly poll results to know their outcome. HSSC chairperson Himmat Singh announced that the results could not be announced anytime soon because of the model code.
HSSC chairman Himmat Singh said that exams for approximately 24,800 posts have been conducted.
"The decision regarding the declaration of results rests with the Election Commission. Because of adherence to the code of conduct, the
Election Commission has current-ly refrained from authorising the release of results," he said.
Singh added that the results of five groups will be declared only after the conclusion of the assembly elections. He also cautioned the students against relying on social media and urged them not to believe any false information regarding the exams. He further mentioned that the CET exam has not been conducted since 2022, and it is likely to take place between Oct and Dec this year.
Earlier this week, youths took to the streets to protest against the freeze on govt recruitment. They staged demonstrations at various locations. The Election Commission had halted the recruitment process for 5,600 posts of constables in the Haryana Police and 76 posts of TGT and PTI following a complaint by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh. Subsequently, the protesters reached the MLA Hostel in Chandigarh and created a commotion outside the residence of Bhupendra Singh Hooda.
