Man set on fire by neighbour dies in hospital
Ghaziabad: A man set on fire by his neighbour last week succumbed to burn injuries in hospital on Sunday.
Nepal Singh, police said, was sleeping outside his house in Niwari village on Thursday night when his next-door neighbour — 70-year-old Sitaram — doused him in petrol, lit a matchstick and hurled it at him.
DCP (rural) Vivek Yadav said when Sitaram was pouring petrol on Nepal Singh, some of it fell on him as well.

So, when Sitaram lit the matchstick, his shirt caught fire too. The 70-year-old fled the spot to save himself.
“His body was found 300 metres away from Nepal Singh’s house,” he added.
An FIR was registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against Sitaram following a complaint by Nepal’s son, Rahul.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the attack was the fallout of a bitter dispute between the two men that flared up two months ago after Nepal’s horse was injured when the assailant’s wife set fire to its tail accidentally while burning some old clothes.
