Four people died and 18 sustained injuries in a truck collision near Muradnagar, UP, on the Peripheral Expressway, confirmed by Additional DCP Traffic, Ghaziabad.

NEW DELHI: At least four people died and 18 people sustained injuries when two trucks collided with each other near Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh, according to a police officer's statement on Sunday.
The incident took place around 1:15 am on Sunday when the trucks were traveling on the Peripheral Expressway within the jurisdiction of the Muradnagar Police Station, as reported by Additional DCP Traffic, Ghaziabad, Veerendra Kumar.

The truck involved in the accident was transporting brick kiln workers from Sonipat, Haryana, to Hardoi. "Some people got down to urinate. A truck coming from behind hit the Eicher Canter from the side, causing it to overturn… As a result, four persons died, while 18 others were injured. There were 35 passengers in the Eicher Canter," Kumar explained.
The victims who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as Mayadevi, 45, Irshad, 30, Najuman, 60, and Shamina, 20, all hailing from the Hardoi district, as confirmed by Kumar.
The injured individuals were immediately taken to the nearest community health center for initial treatment and later referred to the Ghaziabad district hospital for further care. Nine of the injured were transferred to GTB Hospital in Delhi due to the severity of their injuries, as stated by Kumar.
