Two rowdies suffer fractures while escaping from cops
Coimbatore: Two notorious rowdies suffered fractures after they attempted to escape from police and fell into a pit near AeroCity on Kurumbapalayam Road in the district on Sunday.
The rowdies were identified as P Raveendra, 23, of Kondayampalayam, and M Nandakumar, 21, of Kovilpalayam in the district.
After evading arrest for the past two months in connection with a dacoity and criminal intimidation case, the duo along with their gang member M Sirajuddin, 23, of Tirupur, was traced to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and arrested by Kovilpalayam police on August 15.

On Sunday, Raveendra and Nandakumar were taken by police to a spot near AeroCity, where they had hidden lethal weapons. However, the duo tried to escape and fell into a pit, both fracturing their right legs. Police also seized a sickle and a knife from the spot.
They were admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Monday evening.
While Raveendra is facing nine cases, including murder and an attempt to murder, Nandakumar is facing eight cases, including a murder case. Further investigation is on.
