‘IRS officer helping wife in Dadri’: Ind candidate knocks on EC door
Rohtak: Archana, an independent candidate from the Dadri assembly seat, on Tuesday filed a complaint with the chief election officer in Chandigarh seeking action against IRS officer Vikas Sangwan, the husband of Congress candidate Manisha Sangwan, for allegedly leveraging his official position to sway voters in favour of his wife.
Archana cited a viral video, reportedly filmed in Jhinger village within the Dadri constituency, as evidence of the influence of Vikas Sangwan.
The complaint claimed that Vikas Sangwan, an IRS officer, was misusing his power to manipulate the election, a violation of the model code of conduct. Archana urged the Election Commission to take strict action, including relocating Vikas Sangwan outside the state to prevent further interference.
Dadri deputy commissioner Rahul Narwal said that an FIR would be filed once they receive the formal complaint.
