Chandigarh:
BJP's
Anurag Thakur on Wednesday cautioned the voters of
Haryana to be wary of the
Congress since some of its candidates were promising the return of “kharchi-parchi” (corruption-favouritism) system from its previous term.
The former Union minister was campaigning for his party in Kaithal and Fatehabad districts for the Oct 5 assembly polls. He claimed the BJP was confident of forming its govt for the third time in a row.
In the course of this speech, Thakur played two controversioal audio clips of Neeraj Sharma and Shamsher Singh Gogi, Congress legislators from Faridabad NIT and Assandh segments, respectively, in the outgoing assembly. In these clips, they promise a quota for their supporters and relatives out of the 2 lakh promised jobs if the mandate goes to the Congress. They offered one job for every 50 votes.
Thakur asked the gathering: “Do you want to see a 'kharchi-parchi' govt once again?” “They are talking of filling their coffers, selling jobs. The Congress will divide people on the basis of caste, religion and other things, so be wary,” he cautioned them.PTI
