Bhopal: To maintain peace and security in the city during Ganesh Utsav, Dol Gyaras and Milad-un-Nabi, the police conducted a flag march in sensitive areas on Friday. Around 500 police officers and personnel participated in the march, covering a distance of approximately 4 km. The flag march also included around 40 police vehicles.
The march commenced at 5 pm from the Central Library ground under the leadership of Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra.
Additional Police Commissioner Awadhesh Goswami, DCPs Priyanka Shukla, Shraddha Tiwari, Riyaz Iqbal, Jitendra Singh Pawar, and Sanjay Singh, along with other officers and police personnel took part in the flag march.
Starting from the Central Library ground, the march proceeded through Bharat Talkies Square, Itwara, passed in front of Mangalwara police station, Peer Gate, Moti Masjid Square, Retghat and concluded in front of Kamla Park. The march covered sensitive areas within the 4-km radius. Over 500 officers and personnel from the District Police Force, along with the Quick Response Force (QRF) and Special Armed Force (SAF), participated in the march. Additionally, police riot control vehicles such as Rudra, Vajra, and police station mobiles, along with other vehicles, accompanied the march.
Police Commissioner Mishra stated that the primary objective of the flag march was to ensure peace and security during the upcoming festivals and to create a sense of fear among criminals, anti-social elements, and troublemakers. This would allow citizens to enjoy the festivities with a sense of safety and security.
