Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court issued notices to the principal secretary of health and the principal secretary of finance department in response to a petition filed by a group of doctors. The petition stated that there is a provision for the old pension scheme (OPS) for doctors recruited through the main selection list of the exam held in 2005, but doctors recruited from the supplementary list of candidates in the same exam do not have the provision of OPS.
Several medical officers from across the state said that in 2005, vacancies were advertised for the recruitment of doctors. The doctors recruited from the main selection list have the provision of OPS on retirement, but those recruited from the supplementary list on backlog posts in the same exam do not have the provision of OPS.
Appearing for the petitioners, advocate Aditya Sanghi contended that there cannot be discrimination of this kind among people selected for the same post through the same exam. The petitioners should also have the provision of OPS.
Following the initial hearing, the bench of Justice Vivek Jain issued notices to the principal secretaries of the health and finance departments, seeking a response.
