Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to the mortal remains of jawan Pradeep Patel, a resident of Hardua village in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh, who died in an accident in Pakyong, Sikkim. The body of the deceased jawan was brought at Khajuraho airport on Saturday.
Pradeep Patel was given the guard of honour.
Chief minister Yadav said that the country will always be indebted to services of Pradeep Patel.
He said that Rs one crore will be given to the parents of Patel on behalf of the state govt. Patel was the only son of his family, he left behind his married elder sister and parents.
Chief minister Yadav said that in Sanatan culture, there is no better fortune than sacrificing one's life for the country. The state govt stands with the family of the martyr in this difficult time. He said that Patel, the brave son of MP, fell into a 700-meter-deep ditch along with his army comrades killing all of them in the accident. Chief minister Yadav also paid tribute to all colleagues of Jawan Pradeep Patel who died in the accident.
Minister of state for environment and forest Dilip Ahirwar, MLA Chhatarpur Lalita Yadav, MLA Maharajpur Kamakhya Pratap Singh, public representatives and officials also paid tribute.
