Waterlogged Ajmer reports dengue cases
Ajmer: Three positive cases of dengue were reported in Ajmer on Wednesday even as 621 people with seasonal infections came to the OPD of JLN Hospital in the last couple of days. Long queues of patients are seen at private hospitals and dispensaries in the city that has witnessed a week-long flooding in some parts.
Waterlogging and accumulation of garbage on roads following torrential rains have contributed to the spread of seasonal infections, said doctors.

Ajmer CMHO Dr Jyotsna Ranga said the situation has led to the decision to cancel the leaves of all health department staff in the district and that a door-to-door survey has started in the city since Sunday. Medicines are being distributed to people with fever and cough during this survey, she said.
“We are working to stop the breeding of mosquito larvae. A team is spraying larvicides. The medical and health department’s control room is working 24 hours. No cases of malaria were reported on Wednesday, but three cases of dengue were found,” said Dr Ranga, adding that survey reports are being monitored.
