Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Tuesday announced the formation of Gujarat State Institution for Transformation or ‘GRIT', a think tank modelled on the
NITI Aayog to help realise the vision of ‘Viksit' or developed state by 2047.
The body will function under the chairmanship of the chief minister and will comprise experts from 15 sectors and senior functionaries of the state govt.
GRIT will function as a think tank to provide strategic direction to the Viksit Gujarat@2047 vision document, which has been prepared by the state govt in alignment with the Union govt's Viksit Bharat@2047 document.
The finance minister will be vice-chairman and the ministers of agriculture, health, education and industry serving as members, the state govt said on Tuesday.
The governing body will also include the chief advisor to the CM, officials of the planning and finance department and experts in the fields of agriculture, finance and economic affairs, industrial infrastructure, health and nutrition, skill development and employment, and education.
A 10-member executive committee will also be formed to handle day-to-day operations and oversee the execution of recommendations and decisions made by the governing body.
